 THE CHURCH

The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures, composed of the thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and the twenty-seven books of the New Testament, are the verbally inspired Word and Revelation of God. The Bible is inerrant, infallible, God-breathed. The initial miracle of divine inspiration of the original autographs also extends to the divine preservation of a pure text to this day. Therefore, we have the very Word of God in the King James Version preserved through the Hebrew Masoretic Text and the Greek Textus Receptus. We stand firmly on the King James Bible.

Scripture References: Psalm 19:7-11; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:16-21; Luke 24:13-28; John 16:12-16; Psalm 12:6-7; Isaiah 40:8; Psalm 138

God Head, Trinity

We believe that there is one and only one living and true God. An infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Each of the three entities are equal in power, diety, and authority.

Scripture References: Genesis 1:1; Genesis 17:1; Exodus 3:14; Exodus 6:3; Exodus 20:2-3; 15:11; Psalm 83:18; Psalm 90:2; Psalm147:5; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 16:16; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:1; Mark 12:30; John 4:24; 10:30; John 15:26; John 17:5; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 11:23; I Corinthians 12:10-11; I Corinthians 8:6; I Corinthians 12:4-6; II Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 2:18; Ephesians 4:6; Philippians 2:5-6; II Timothy 1:17; I John 5:7-8; Revelation 4:1

Holy Spirit

We believe in the eternal Deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who is one of the three Persons of the Trinity. We believe the following are among His ministries: the restraining of evil in the world to the measure of the divine will; the conviction of the world regarding sin, righteousness, and judgment; the calling and regeneration of all believers; the indwelling of those who are saved; and, the continued filling for power, teaching, and service of all among the saved who are truly yielded to Him.

Scripture References: Romans 8:28, 29; I Corinthians 1:24; II Thessalonians 2:7; John 3:6; John 16:7-11; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18

We believe the Holy Spirit produces His fruit in the lives of all believers.

Scripture References: Galatians 5:22, 23; Colossians 1:10, 12

 Deity of Christ

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, that he was supernaturally begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and that he is completely God and man at the same time. That he is the only begotten son of God; Therefore the Lord Jesus Christ is the sinless, omnipotent, omniscient, Savior of sinners, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Scripture References: Matthews 1:20-21; Luke1:35-36; Luke 2:10-11; John 1:14; John 3:16,18; I John 4:9

Sinless Humanity of Christ

We believe that the entire life of Jesus Christ was spent free from sin, and defilement. He was not only sinless in nature but also sinless in deed, thought and performance, which qualify him to be the only savior of all mankind, as no other person has ever or will ever shall meet the just demand of God for a sinless substitute.

Scripture References: John 8:46; John 18:38; Matthew 17:5

Atoning Death of Christ

We believe that when Jesus gave His life on Calvary that he did it for all mankind and declared that those who trust Him as Savior will be righteous in the sight of God. Only through his precious blood can come the remission of all sins.

Scripture References: John 3:16, John 10:17-18, Romans 5:1, Hebrews 9:22-28

Resurrection of Christ

We believe the literal bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ took place three days (72 hours), after His death on the cross. The resurrection declares that He is indeed the Son of God, as He is the only one who has or ever will rise from the dead by His own power. Christ’s ability to rise from the dead by His own power gives us assurance that He will also resurrect those who trust Him for salvation in the resurrection of the just to eternal heaven. Those who do not trust Him, He will also raise to eternal damnation in the lake of fire.

Scripture References: Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:1-7; Luke 36-45; John 11:25-26; John 20-21; I Corinthians 15:1-8, 51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15

Ascension of Christ

We believe in the personal, bodily ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven after the resurrection. Christ sits in heaven at Gods right hand as our Intercessor and Great High Priest. Christ’s sitting declares the finished work of redemption.

Scripture References: Mark 16:19-20; Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:8-11

Sin Nature & Depravity

We believe man was created in the image of God that he voluntarily sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death. Man’s sin nature separates him from God and sentences him to an everlasting abode in hell. All human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners by choice and practice, in thought, word, and deed. Sin creates a debt in which no man can pay for himself.

Scripture References: Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Genesis 1:26-27; I Corinthians 11:7; Psalm 51:5

Salvation & Security

We believe each believer, at the moment he/she puts their trust in Christ is born into the family of God, and does instantaneously become a Son of the living God. He/she is redeemed by the Lord’s purchase price paid for us and is then preserved in Christ. He/she is forever secure in Christ, possesses everlasting eternal life, and is sealed by the Holy Spirit for eternity.

Scripture References: John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; John 5:24; Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30

Point of Salvation

We believe salvation is received when a person freely, honestly, sincerely, consciously and deliberately repents (Being willing toTurn from sin to Christ) and places their faith (trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ as savior.

Scripture References: Acts 20:21; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12

Baptism

We believe each person trusting in Christ as savior should promptly make public his/her profession. Each new believer should follow the Lords command for believer’s baptism. Such scriptural baptism is always by immersion under the authority of a Local New Testament Church. Baptism does not save, but is the Lord’s prescribed way for us to identify ourselves with him in open confession. Baptism is a symbolic representation, a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Scripture References: Matthew 10:32-33; Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 9:23; Acts 16:30-34; Romans 10:9-10

The Local New Testament Church

We believe that Jesus Christ established His Church during His ministry on earth. It is a local, visible assembly of soundly saved, scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship, to carry out the great commission. Each church is an independent self governing body, and that no ecclesiastical body or association shall have any authority over it. Jesus gave the great commission to the New Testament Church, and that He promised perpetuity (continuance) of his churches.

Scripture References: Matthew 4:18-22; Matthew 16:18; Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 3:21

Church Ordinances

We believe that the Lord himself gave His church two (2) pictorial ordinances: Baptism and The Lord’s Supper. We believe the sacred use of bread (unleavened) and the fruit of the vine (unfermented) are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ preceded always by solemn self-examination. Only those within the membership of the Local Church “in good standing” are to partake. We believe that baptism is the immersion in water of a believer in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, with the authority of the local church. It shows forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; it is prerequisite to the privileges of a church relation.

Scripture References: Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:12; Acts 38; I Corinthians 5:11-13; I Corinthians 11:23-29; Matthew 3:6; Matthew 3:16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 3:23; Acts 2:41-42; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5; I Corinthians 11:23-28; Colossians 2:12

Pastoral and Deacon Qualifications

We believe the two offices of the Local New Testament Church are Pastor and Deacon. These offices are to be held strictly by men who meet qualifications given in scripture. The man in office as Pastor/Deacon (including Associate, Youth) should never be divorced and remarried. These offices are to be held by men with exceptional character proven faithful in all other mandates set forth.

Scripture References: Malachi 2:16; Matthew 19:9; I Corinthians 7:1-11; I Timothy 3:1-16; Titus 1:-3:16; 1 Peter 5:1,3

Gifts

We believe that the miraculous spiritual manifestation (sign) gifts were done away with when the Bible was completed. Faith, Hope, and Charity are the vital and only abiding spiritual gifts.

Scripture References: I Corinthians 12-13; Psalm 138:2

Believers Separation

We believe that all believers are called into a life of personal separation from worldly and sinful practices. A Christian should seek to live a life that is clean, holy, and above reproach. He/ she should exhibit both attitude and actions so as to be of good report. Practices which are questionable, which may cause another person to stumble or which may mar the testimony of Christ and the Local New Testament Church should be avoided all together.

Scripture References: James 4:4; Romans 12:1-2; II Corinthians 6:14-18; Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 1:27; Philippians 3:14-21; Philippians 4:8-9

Civil Obedience

We believe that as Christians we are to abide by the laws and civil ordinances set forth by the government. We are to obey all laws unless they are in conflict with the declarative teachings of the Word of God. We firmly believe in separation of Church and state and that our worship of God should not be hindered by governmental influences or governmental control of God’s institution (The Church). We believe that all schools and colleges who are a ministry of a New Testament Church should avoid government grants and accreditations.

Scripture References: Acts 5:29; Romans 13:1, 7; I Peter 2:13-17

Rapture and Second Coming

We believe the "Blessed Hope" of our Lord's return is literal, personal, visible, imminent, pre-millennial, and pre-tribulational. He will rapture the dead in Christ first, and then the living saints will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air prior to the seven years of tribulation. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on the earth. We believe the time is close.

Scripture References: I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 20:1-6; Psalm 89:3-4

 THE GOVERNMENT

(our platform)

  1. We need less government, not more. It's purpose is not to "create" jobs which it can't or give away taxpayer money which it should not , but to control the wicked hearts of men
