a perversion denounced by God
worthy of death.
Let me say from the outset:
although this paper pulls no punches; it is the truth from the
Word of God and the Bible says: "The truth shall make you free" (John 8:31). Those to whom it is directed are asked
to consider what the word has to say and understand that
loving someone means telling them the truth even if it hurts.
As God loved us "While we were yet sinners" (Rom. 5:8) and sent
his only begotten son to die for our sins; We also want to express our love for the sinner; yet, as God does, we
must also express our hatred of the sin. The hope here is: that the truth shall set any who have been deceived by
Satan into participating in the sin of homosexuality, or who have been duped into accepting it as just an
"Alternate lifestyle", to repent and receive Christ as their only means of forgiveness of sin.
Rev. M.E. Thornsley
What is this perversion?
While Homosexuals attempt to legitimize their perversion
by ignoring God's word on the subject, or by taking verses from
God's word out of context to make them say whatever fits their twisted, blind and reprobate
A study of God's word
and any grasp of the natural order in procreation, as well as
creation, can only end in one of two conclusions:
1). From a purely psychological standpoint:
Homosexuality, is, at the least, an unnatural act committed by
persons with a mental state or capacity which is diminished, flawed or deviate from what is natural in the
processes that allow a species, of any type, including mankind, to continue it's existence without assistance from
extra / unnatural, sexual processes and / or by overt and covert recruitment.
2). From a biblical standpoint:
Homosexuality is a direct contradiction of God's order in creation
and his plan for the continuance of man; it is a direct violation of God's laws concerning sexuality and is
condemned by God as an offense against his creation which he calls: An "Abomination" sited as being worthy of a
physical death penalty in the Old Testament and rejection from saving grace being offered in the New Testament
(Which results in eternal death in the Lake of fire).
Let's establish the facts
we must establish what God viewed as his plan for men and women,
sexually, from the beginning. In Genesis chapter one we find the chronological order of the creation; chapter two
gives us a more in-depth narration of the specific events concerning the creation of man and woman.
(Gen. 2:18) says: "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I
will make him an help meet for him.".
The phrase: "An help meet for him", means a helper that is suited for , made to fit with naturally, one that would
make Adam completely fulfilled as man. In verses 19-20 of Gen. Chapter 2, God brought all the different animals
before Adam for him to name; in doing so, Adam, noticed that for every animal there was a male and a female; but,
he had no such mate. God then created Eve, out of man, as his natural companion: sexually, emotionally, physically
suited for man; equipped for the task given to them by God in (Genesis 1:28) "And God blessed them, and God said
unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,...". It can naturally be noted that the commandment
was for Adam and Eve to have children together, by each other: this was God's plan and purpose for the
The New Testament fully supports the Old Testament as to God's plan and purpose for the sexes:
(Mat 19:4-6 KJV) "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning
made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his
wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath
joined together, let not man put asunder."
(Mark 10:6-9 KJV) "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man
leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more
twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
Notice the phrase;
" Let not man put asunder" this not only has application to the
marriage of a man (Male) and woman (Female); Which, by the way, is the only type of marriage found in the bible;
but, is in deed a declaration of the only type of sexual union ordained by God: "What therefore God hath joined
together"; "From the beginning of the creation God made them male and female"; "For this cause shall a man (Male)
leave his father (Male) and mother (Female), and cleave to his wife (Female);..."
I have only addressed the natural order of sexuality as God
created and ordained it to be. We will now explore and note God's word concerning the serious nature, as he views
it, when his order, concerning our sexual conduct, is changed by man or ignored by man through his own lust;
especially as it relates to homosexuality (Which is not the only sexual sin listed in the Bible; but, is the one we
will concern ourselves with most in this paper).
Where did it start and what happened?
The first mention
of, or encounter with, homosexual conduct is found in Genesis
chapter 19 (Which by the way was before the Law was given to Moses; it has always been viewed by God as a
despicable sin). Lot has separated himself from his uncle Abraham and taken up residence in the city of Sodom
(Genesis 13) In Genesis chapter 18, the Lord appears unto Abraham and announces his intention to destroy the cities
of the plains, including Sodom. (Gen. 18:20) states: "And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is
and because their sin is very grievous;".
In Genesis 19, two angels sent by God arrive in Sodom; they
appeared as men
[- males -].
In vs. 5, the men of Sodom
[- males -]
said: "Where are the men
[- males -]
which came in to thee this night". Leading up to this point,
during the course of the conversation between Lot and the angels when they first arrived in town, there is a noted
tone of urgency as Lot persuades these men not to sleep on the streets of Sodom at night; but, to go with him into
his house. Lot knew what the men of Sodom where like; in the New Testament it says this concerning the cities of
the plains and Lot:
(2 Pet 2:6 -8) "And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making
them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy
conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and
hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)"
The word "Conversation" means lifestyle; their filthy (Wicked)
Again, in Genesis 19 verses 4-9, we find the men
[- Males -]
of Sodom surrounding the house of Lot and calling to have the
[- Males - as they perceived them to be]
that Lot had invited into his house, brought out to them so that
in their words "We may know them". This phrase, in context, is a call for sexual contact with these
[Males - as they were perceived to be)
by the men
[- Males -]
of Sodom. The sexual nature of the context is clearly seen in
Lot's response to their demands in verses 7-8 :
(Gen 19:7-8 KJV) Lot "... Said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly." Behold now, I have two daughters which
have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only
unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof."
The Sexually perverse nature of the sins of Sodom and the other cities of the plains is also spoken of in the New
(Jude 1:7) "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to
fornication, and going after strange
flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering
the vengeance of eternal fire."
Only someone attempting to justify their sin could miss the sexually perverse, homosexual nature of the demands
issued by the men
[- Males -]
of Sodom toward the Men
[ - Males - as they were perceived to be]
that were in Lot's house that night. It was for this cause that
the angels smote the men at Lot's door with blindness, so that they, the angels, could get Lot and his family out
of Sodom before God destroyed all the cities of the plains for this and many other sins.
It is interesting to note, historically, after this incident that the participants in this sin became known as
"Sodomites": so named after the city of Sodom in Genesis 13-19.
It's God's law
After Sodom and Gomorrha
we do not find this sin spoken of again until God gives his
written law in the book of Leviticus. Leviticus chapters 18 and 20 give a summary of God's laws concerning sexual
(Lev. 18:22) says: "Thou shalt not lie with [Have sexual contact
with] mankind [Other - Males -], as with womankind [- Females -]: it isAbomination." ("Abomination" means: something morally disgusting).
(Lev 20:13) "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an
abomination: they shall surely be put to
death; their blood be upon them."
If anyone will honestly look at Leviticus chapter 18 verses 22-30 and Leviticus chapter 20 verses 10-23, in
context, you must recognize that these scriptures are dedicated wholly to sexual perversion and sins, which God
calls "Abomination", many of which God pronounces a physical death penalty on any that participate in those sins:
Homosexuality being one of those sins worthy of death according to God's word.
that while God instructed the people of Israel to execute his
judgment in the Old Testament; we now are instructed, as his children,
not to execute the judgment,
but to judge, and that according to God's word:
(2 Tim 2:15 KJV) "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
We judge according to the Word of God what is right and what is wrong: then
we leave the execution of God's judgment to the Government and to God himself.
If the government will not do it, God will; but, we are not to
take the law into our own hands.
(Rom 13:1-4 KJV) "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers
that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that
resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou
then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the
minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is
evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in
vain: for he [The government]is the minister of
God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."
(Romans 12:17-19 KJV) "Recompense to no man evil for evil [Don't
you do wrong to someone, just because they are doing wrong]. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If
it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves[Don't take matters into your own hands; as a
vigilante], but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I
will repay, saith the Lord."
The Government, for the most part, has let down on it's responsibility to execute judgment against evil and, in
many cases, revels in and protects the evildoers; while saying: “Those that speak against evil
[Preach the Word]
are the evil ones”. God will not fail
[as have governments]
to judge the wicked, their day is coming. The governments also,
that have not fulfilled their responsibility, will be judged: (Psalms 9:17) "The wicked shall be turned into hell,
the nations that
This does not release us from our responsibility to name sin and call for those that are deceived by sin to repent.
In fact, that is the message that we are to proclaim. Jesus said: "I came not to call the righteous,
sinners to repentance.
" (Mark 2:17). Jesus, after his resurrection, appeared to his disciples and declared:
(Luke 24:46-47 KJV) "... Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the
third day: And that repentance andremission of
sins should be preached in his name among all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem."
(2 Tim 4:1-4 KJV) "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the
dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of
season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will
come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to
themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and
shall be turned unto fables."
The Idea that we are not to judge sin in people; comes from a misreading and false application of Matthew chapter 7
and verses 1-5. This scripture is not telling Christians not to make judgments; but, is warning
not to judge those that are following God (A hypocrite is someone
that presents himself as something that he is not, or that says one thing and does another). Paul spoke of these
people in Romans 1:32:
(Rom 1:32 KJV) "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only
do the same, but havepleasure in them that do them."
The fact of the matter is: We as Christians are to make judgments according to the word of God and avoid fellowship
with those that do things contrary to the word. Jesus said: "Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous
judgment"; Righteous judgment is judgment that is based on God's word.
(Mat 7:16 KJV) "Ye shall know them by their
fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot
bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good
fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their
fruits ye shall know them."
The word of God declares homosexuality to be an "Abomination", "Wickedness", "Filthy"; the world calls it an
"Alternate lifestyle": (Isa 5:20 KJV) "Woe unto them that call
evil good, and good evil;
that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put
bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!". The book of Romans has this to say about homosexuals and those that
believe that it is just an alternate lifestyle:
(Rom 1:22-32 KJV) "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible
God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore
God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between
themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a
lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the
Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into
that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the
woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves
that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in
their knowledge, God gave them
over to a reprobate mind, to do those
things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things,
disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural
affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy
of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."
about midway though the verses, in bold print, the phrase:
"Receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet". My friend, from Sodom to San Francisco,
God has reserved a punishment that is fit, or made for the crime: from fire and brimstone out of heaven, to Aids:
"They which commit such things are worthy of death":
However, It is God, not us, that will execute the judgment; we are merely to warn the sinner of his impending
doom if they do not repent of their sin and turn to Christ for salvation.
Here are some more verses for those that "Call good evil, and evil good":
(Prov 17:15 KJV) "He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to
God's word is not only against homosexuality; but, is against anything that crosses the boundary that he has set
between the sexes. To include dressing in clothing that was intended for use by the other sex (Deut. 22:5). Do not
be fooled; this is not just against, so called, "Cross dressers"; but, includes every aspect of our dress: We need
to follow the admonition of (2 Tim 2:15) "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.". Satan wants to destroy the barriers placed between the sexes and our
dress is just one area that he has worked on successfully over the years. Other areas are hair length, jobs, and
family responsibilities. In (I Cor. 6:9), those that are "Effeminate" are listed with those that shall not inherit
the kingdom of God. God wants men to be manly and women to be feminine. A man that acts like a woman is not
acceptable to God and is listed with the likes of "Fornicators", Idolaters", "Adulterers", and "Abusers of
themselves with mankind" (Note the phrase: "Abusers of themselves with Mankind" comes from a combination of two
Greek words meaning "A Sodomite" in other words, what the world wants to politely call "A homosexual"). Repent, is
the call, before it is to late!
(Prov 21:27 KJV) "The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked
(Prov 28:9 KJV) "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination."
The Call to Repentance
as bad as it is and as strongly denounced as it is in God's word,
is but one of many sins and the Bible declares: "The wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23). If any will turn from
their sin (Repent) and call upon Christ to forgive them of their sin; they can be saved.
(Luke 13:3 KJV) "...Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."
Jesus said: (Luke 24:47 KJV) "... That repentance
and remission of sins should be preached in his name among
all nations, beginning at CityplaceJerusalem."
(Rom 10:9-10 KJV) "... If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
The good news is:
although "The wages of sin is death;...", the rest of that verse
(Rom. 6:23) says: "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." You that are homosexual can
be saved; but,
, as with all sin, first repent of your sins
[Change your mind]
and believe God's word, turn from your sins and turn to Christ for
and he will make you a "New creature".
